Hello intervalometer. Hello New York.

I just got back from a fun 3 day shoot with Queensbury Media in New York. Such a good time.
It’s funny when I go back to a place I’ve been to before and now that I revisit I’m filming with the Canon 5d and 7d… Things look so differently. I love that experience.
One of my missions in NYC was to film the town with the 7d. Luckily, along the way I had the privilege of visiting B&H for the first time… I know, I should’ve been before but regardless, I felt like I was in Disney World! I broke down and bought an intervalometer while I was there and I’m so psyched I did. Granted, Jon bought his for $34 on Ebay but after we set up an overnight timelapse of the skyline and I knew I’d be without one for 24 hours, I had to get a second one :)
Below is a short film of some of New York’s highlights. Hope you enjoy.
Shot with the 7d.
Some still timelapses shot with the 5d.
Glidetrack + Zacuto Z Finder.
50mm f/1.4, 16-35 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8.
Graded with Magic Bullet Looks.

you are a force to be reckoned with.

how did you do the slow motion so cleanly? was that shot originally on the 5D or 7D?

Great stuff! Ghostwriter is a great track for timelapse, I used it myself a couple months ago for the same type of carlapse.

Awesome and amazing! On vimeo you said something about breaking out all your old Nikon gear, did you use Nikon primes for this shoot or all Canon?

Hey Chad! Thanks for checking this out! So ya, I recently started using my Nikon gear for timelapses. I can use my D300 & D200 with all my Nikon glass but the only piece that I can also use with the 5D & 7D is my 14mm Sigma. I got a cheap adaptor on Ebay and it works great :) I love having the freedom of being in one location and using my Nikons for timelapses and the Canons for video…. Multitasking :)
Oh! And to answer your actual question, we only used Canon glass for the NYC shoot. I hadn’t discovered that I could do timelapses with my Nikons yet and I had borrowed a 16-35mm so was using that over the 14mm (I find the 16-35mm much sharper).
